![]() ![]() Let's say there was going to be a 1.4 update, just as big as 1.2 or 1.3, I would say it wouldn't be released for 5+ years. Alongside some brand new bug fixes and quality. Plus, the bigger a game gets the more bugs you will run into, making the developing process even longer. A brand new Dying Light 2: Stay Human update is set to be deployed today (April 27), bringing a major content update to the hit sequel by Techland. It was like 2 years between 1.2 and 1.3, and that was with a full developer team which has now been downsized. Side note: If there was an "eta" for release of 1.4 it would be at least like 3-4 years if not much longer. bugfixes) for a long time, and maybe even a 1.3.2 update (1.3.1 being the wiring mechanics update that is expected to be released soon), but beyond that I highly doubt that there will be much more content added to the game (and I'm perfectly content without getting anymore large updates, I love this game). Redigit has said that Terraria's engine is reaching it's limits, and probably couldn't handle another large content update past 1.3. They have stated that this is the final large content update (although they've stated this before), and (stated for the first time) that Moon Lord is meant to be the "final" boss of Terraria. Plus, it would take them several years to do it with a smaller team. The Terraria team now consists of a few developers working on the 1.3.1 (wiring mechanics) update and bugfixes, but I doubt a small team would work on a large content update like 1.2 or 1.3. Redigit (the main developer) has left the Terraria team to move onto other projects.
