Either way i remember it as though it were bas-relief carving as seen on cuckoo clocks. I think it could have been a nice paintjob made to decorate the sides. There were elements of leaves and pinecones and some landscape elements. What sticks out like a sore thumb were the details on the sides. The top i remember was flat, as nothing stuck above the playing field. I think it most likely was a 'hollow box' style floor goban. I doubt it was made from a single piece of wood or from the usual suspects of woods often used for a goban. I thought I had saved an image to a memory stick but can not locate it. ![]() A while back I found an image online of what appeared to be a german Cuckoo clock inspired floor goban.
